Tottenham Entrepreneur Wins Four Dragons' Den Backers for Sea Moss Brand

A North London entrepreneur has secured investment for his sea moss wellness brand after impressing the Dragons' Den panel. Rome Haghighat, from Tottenham, launched the business in 2024 and walked away with backing from four high-profile investors.

The deal will see Steven Bartlett, Peter Jones, and rapper Tinie Tempah join the company, which sells gels, capsules, and soaps made from natural ingredients.

Haghighat entered the Den seeking £100,000 in exchange for 10% of his business. His products, aimed at beauty, detox, and workout recovery, generated £55,000 in revenue during the first year, with £8,000 in profit.

All four male Dragons made offers, each proposing £33,333 for a 10% stake. Haghighat initially resisted giving up more than 20% equity but eventually agreed to a deal. The final terms allow the investors' share to drop to 21% if their money is repaid within 24 months.

While the UK market for sea cucumber-based wellness products remains niche—with little growth since 2024—Haghighat's focus on sea moss appears to have won over the panel. Sales of such products have stayed low, mostly limited to online imports from Asia, but his brand now has the backing to expand.

The investment will help Haghighat scale his business, which currently offers supplements in various forms. With the Dragons' support, the brand aims to grow beyond its first-year figures. The deal also includes a clause reducing the investors' stake if the funds are returned within two years.
