Disruption of drinking water supply in Rohrbach - Rohrbach's water crisis forces boil-water notice after pump failure

Residents in Rohrbach have faced drinking water shortages since Saturday after faulty pumps disrupted the tractor supply. The issue has forced officials to issue a boil-water notice while repairs take place.

The problem began when pumps failed over the weekend, cutting off normal water flow. As a temporary fix, the remaining tractor supply has been chlorinated, which may leave an unusual taste. Locals have been advised to boil all tap water before drinking, cooking, or preparing meals.

Non-potable water is available for collection at the village community centre. Technicians are working to install a new pump, flush the lines, and restore pressure. The elevated tank will then be refilled, with repairs expected to finish by around 20:00. Full service should return by midnight on February 1, 2026.

Until the system is fully repaired, residents must continue boiling water for safety. The chlorinated tractor supply will remain in place, though its taste may differ from usual. Officials have confirmed the distribution of non-potable water will continue until the issue is resolved.
